Video Game Weddings

The comments scare me even more (even though I was laughing at the suggestion of BOSS MUSIC! at the wedding). Here is the comment of one girl's wedding:
I had a video game/anime wedding. Although I still wore a pretty, white dress and my husband wore a tuxedo (Asian style), everything we did revolved around video games and anime. The best part about it was that people were talking about how much fun they had for months afterward. For the ceremony, the music we had playing before hand was an arrangement of a song from Dark Cloud. When my father walked me down the aisle, it was an arranged version of the Final Fantasy theme. After the "You may kiss the bride," it was the battle fanfare from Final Fantasy VI.Gaming is not your passion. Gaming is Miyamoto's passion. Gaming is Kojima's passion. It is like saying watching movies is your passion.
Now for the reception. First of all, we had a section of the ballroom reserved for some XBox's, PS2's, and GC's, so you could play Halo, Super Smash Bros., and DDR, just to name a few games. Each table had a video game character instead of a number, so you might be sitting at the Kefka table or the Link table. Our guest list was about 175 people and I would say out of those people, maybe 25 were gamers and knew what any of it was all about. When they introduced the bridal party, they played the theme from EverQuest. The bouquet toss was the chocobo theme. The garter toss was a song from the Japanese rhythm game, Mojib Ribbon. The cake cutting was the Moogle theme. Our first dance was "Eyes on Me" from FF8. Throughout the reception, was game and anime music. Xenogears, Xenosaga, FF, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, DDR, Kingdom Hearts, Silent Hill, and Wild Arms just to name a few. I had to make CD's for the DJ company since they didn't have ANY of this stuff, of course. The final song of the evening was "Dancing Mad" from FFVI. You know, that really long song that plays while you're fighting Kefka. Oh, and instead of having some cute couple on the top of the cake, we had a little figure of Vivi from FFIX. There was other stuff, too, but I can't remember... It was almost 2 years ago.
Gaming is my and my husband's passion, so it worked. I can pretty much guarantee that no one has ever had or will have a wedding quite like ours. :)
I think many guys are confused in that they think 'love' comes from a female of shared interests (such as video games!). While shared interests are good, make sure she is actually a woman first. Geek girls are just as feminist as non-geek girls are.
While I believe that people should be who they are and live their own life, there is something that BUGS ME about this wedding. Maybe it is because of the lack of holiness? Maybe it is because the emphasis is all on fun? (what happens when things stop being fun? Does that mean the marriage is over?).
Oh well, make your own observations.
